A Palestinian teenager succumbed to his wounds after being shot by Israeli forces last month, the Hamas-run health ministry in the besieged Gaza Strip has announced.

Suheib Abdel Salam Kashif, 16, died in the early hours of Sunday, Gaza time, after battling his wounds for over a month from when he was shot on 3 August.

Israeli forces shot Suheib when he was participating in protests in east of Khan Younis.

His death comes after two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old, were shot dead by Israeli fire in new clashes along the Gaza border on Friday.

The teenager was shot east of Jabalia in northern Gaza, the ministry said, while a medical source named him as Mustafa Abed Rabbo.

A second Palestinian, who was not immediately identified, was killed near Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

At least another 12 people were injured, the ministry added, as Palestinians again demonstrated in different spots along the border.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s largest medical complex al-Shifa Hospital is at risk of being shut down as a result of the depletion of fuel used to operate alternative generators during power outage, the Hamas-run health ministry said.

"If the fuel crisis continues, we may reach a stage where services are completely halted at al-Shifa Hospital," spokesman for the Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra told Turkish Anadolu Agency last week.

The health ministry urged donor countries and international organisations to promptly intervene to regularly provide sufficient amounts of fuel to hospitals in the besieged enclave to keep their services running.
