A Syrian regime politician who has been regularly interviewed by international news channels has called on the UK government to 'rely on The White Helmets' following an attack in London.

A Syrian MP is under fire on social media after making a sickening comment about an attack outside the UK's parliament in London, which left at least four people dead.
Fares Shehabi, a leading figure in the Syrian regime, said the UK government should "rely on The White Helmets in rescuing civilians after 'moderate rebels attacked London".
His attack was directed at the The White Helmets, a Syrian civilian emergency response team whose members have rescued close to 80,000 people injured in regime air raids.
Shehabi's tweet came just after a man drove into pedestrians on a bridge in London and knifed a police officer outside the seat of British democracy, the Houses of Parliament.
The tweet triggered a backlash. One person tweeted back telling Shehabi - who was interviewed by the UK's Channel 4 News last year - "you are quite mad".
Another asked "how's Hama going?", referring to a successful offensive by rebels, which has put them within a few kilometres of the centre of Syria's fourth largest city.
The Aleppo MP has a history of making vile comments about opponents of the regime.
Shehabi said Syrian rebels being evacuated from East Aleppo - who he refers to as "jihadis" and "terrorists" - should go to Europe so the West can see "what we are dealing with".

Shehabi also called for the death of a seven-year-old Syrian girl who published daily harrowing accounts of life in opposition East Aleppo under daily regime bombs.
"Dear world, it's better to start 3rd world war instead of letting Russia & Assad commit #HolocaustAleppo," Bana Alabed tweeted, as her neighbourhood was subjected to one of the fiercest bombardments in the Syria war.
Shehabi responded by calling for the girl's death, as regime forces launched an assault on the rebel-held section of Aleppo.
"Dear world, it's better to let this little witch die before she starts with her sponsors WW3 (sic)," the Syrian politician responded according to Sabah News.
Shehabi has been a frequent critic of The White Helmets, who have become a household name in the UK after a documentary about the emergency response team won an Oscar.
He has also been a regular face on international television, defending the crimes of his regime which has left hundreds of thousands dead.
Last week than 800 health workers were killed in "acts of war crimes" in Syria since 2011, it was reported, the vast majority by regime forces.
