Lebanese-American former porn star Mia Khalifa says she was forced into the infamous sex scene in which she wore a hijab.

In an interview with BBC Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur, she opens up about the way she was exploited during her three months in porn industry; including laughing at her when she was scared a sex scene wearing a hijab will get her killed.

"I verbatim told them 'you guys are going to get me killed' -- they just laughed", she told Sackur.

Last year, Khalifa revealed she received death threats from the Islamic State group after the scene.

In a former interview, she said IS shared a photoshopped image of her about to be beheaded by one of the terrorist group's executioners, with a message warning she would go to hell.

Whilst at the time, she said she laughed it off, she revealed in the interview with Sackur that she was in fact scared and that she was too scared to say no to doing the scene.

"Intimidation", she said when she was asked why she did it.

She said she didn't believe she was being forced, because she classes being forced into a scene as being rape, but the only reason she did it was because she was too scared to say no.

"Have you ever felt scared, not scared, nervous to speak up and say something that’s not right when your food’s not right and the waiter comes and says how’s everything? I was intimidated, I was nervous."

Earlier this month, Khalifa denounced the pornography industry as "exploitative", saying it preys on vulnerable young women.

The now sports journalist made the comments in a lengthy sit-down interview published last week, addressing her short-lived but well-known porn career.

"[The industry] traps women legally into contracts when they're vulnerable," Khalifa said.
