Donald Trump has warned Iran against threats to ramp up uranium expansion.
US President Donald Trump has fired a new threat at Iran, saying its plans to ramp up uranium production could "come back to bite".

It comes after Iran President Rouhani said Iran would exceed uranium enrichment levels set by a nuclear deal with world powers by Saturday.

"In any amount that we want, any amount that is required, we will take over 3.67," Rouhani said of the uranium enrichment levels.

"Our advice to Europe and the United States is to go back to logic and to the negotiating table. Go back to understanding, to respecting the law and resolutions of the UN Security Council. Under those conditions, all of us can abide by the nuclear deal."

Although the US was the country to originally pull-out of the landmark nuclear agreement with Iran, Trump warned Tehran against such measures.

"Iran has just issued a New Warning. Rouhani says that they will Enrich Uranium to 'any amount we want' if there is no new Nuclear Deal," Trump tweeted, referring to Iran's President Hassan Rouhani.

"Be careful with the threats, Iran. They can come back to bite you like nobody has been bitten before!"

The enrichment maximum set in the agreement is sufficient for power generation but far below the more than 90 percent level required for a nuclear weapon.
