The singer casts her voice as Jasmine in the dubbed French version of Guy Ritchie's new Aladdin film.
Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji is the voice of Jasmine in the dubbed French version of the new Aladdin film, which was released on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old, who is known for playing the main female role in some of the most renowned Rahbani musicals, was introduced by the president of Walt Disney in France after a screening of the premiere in Le Grand Rex theatre in Paris.

She gave a live performance of two songs from the film in French, "Speechless" and "Ce Rêve bleu", which were received by the audience with a huge ovation.

Aladdin's plot is drawn from a centuries-old Middle Eastern folk tale that features in the Arabian Nights and was retold in a 1992 Disney cartoon.

It is the story of a street urchin who finds a magic lantern containing a genie and falls in love with a rebellious princess, Jasmine.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the 2019 remake stars Hollywood heavyweight Will Smith as the genie, English actress Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Canadian-Egyptian Mena Massoud as Aladdin.
