Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with his Iraqi counterpart Barham Salih on Monday in the presidential palace in Baghdad.

The officials discussed bilateral relations and the dangers facing the Palestinian cause, official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

Abbas's one-day trip is the second visit by an Arab leader after Jordan's king following general elections in Iraq last year.

The Palestinian leader met with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Sunday, where he said Palestinians were ready to contribute "expertise and companies" to rebuilding Iraq following years of conflict.

Abbas reiterated his rejection of the Trump administration's so-called 'Deal of the Century'.

He was accompanied by the head of the PA's intelligence services Majed Faraj and economic and diplomatic advisors.

Abbas will fly to Jordan on Monday and return to the occupied West Bank.
