Deadly roadside bomb explodes as Afghan wedding procession passes, killing eight children
Afghanistan has witnessed another day of violence with civilians, including children, killed.

A roadside bomb in northern Afghanistan has killed at least 15 people, including eight children, as a crowd passed to celebrate a wedding.
The explosion happened on Wednesday in the northern Kunduz province, an area known for militancy, and follows almost daily attacks by the Taliban and Islamic State group.
Mahbubullah Sayedi, district chief of Imam Sahib, told Al Jazeera that the massacre happened on a main road in Kunduz, and follows weeks of fighting between Afghan forces and the Taliban.
"The families were on their way to a wedding ceremony when, unfortunately, their vehicle hit a roadside bomb that killed them," Sayedi said.
Six women and a man were also among the fatalities.
Meanwhile, 13 civilians were injured in Sar-e-Pul when the Taliban attempted to move a car packed with explosives, which detonated, according to local media.
Despite talks between the US and Taliban taking place, the country had been plagued by violence over the past year.
In the first six months of 2019, 3,812 civilians were killed and wounded with 144 women and 327 children losing their lives in the violence.
