Palestinian teen shot at Gaza protest dies from wounds

A Palestinian teen shot by Israeli forces in May during major protests on the Gaza border died of his wounds on Wednesday, the health ministry.
"Mahmud al-Gharabli, 16, died after being injured in the head east of Gaza City on 14 May," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said.
Gharabli's death brings to at least 63 the number of Palestinians killed on that day, when thousands approached the heavily guarded border fence as the US moved its Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
At least 145 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the beginning of "Great Return March" protests began in late March.
Palestinians are calling to return to the homes their families were forced from in 1948 during the war surrounding the creation of Israel and for an end to the decade-long crippling blockade of the Palestinian enclave.
Earlier, the UN General Assembly adopted by a strong majority an Arab-backed resolution condemning Israel for the killing of protesters.
The resolution condemned Israel's use of "excessive, disproportionate and indiscriminate force" against Palestinian civilians and called for protection measures for the people of Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The US has since withdrawn from the UN Human Rights Council, branding the global body as a "cesspool of political bias".The move reinforces the belief that the administration US President Donald Trump is seeking to advance Israel's agenda on the world stage, just as it prepares to unveil its long-awaited Israeli-Palestinian peace plan.
