A Palestinian prisoner from Beit Anan, Wissam Rabea, has made allegations of torture at an Israeli detention facility, according to a statement released by the Palestinian Prisoner Club.

According to the statement, Rabea reportedly underwent a prolonged investigation lasting 48 hours, during which he was subjected to sleep depravation and beatings.

Rabea suffered a "nervous breakdown" and was subsequently transferred to solitary confinement where he was kept on the ground, handcuffed and feet tied for more than five hours.  He subsequently staged a two-day hunger strike to protest his mistreatment.

Israeli security forces arrested Rabea on 30 March 2018, and a military court issued decisions to extend his administrative detention three times with another hearing due on Monday.

The Prisoner's Club said it has documented three cases of detainees who were subjected to systematic "torture" inside the Maskoubiya detention centre since March.

The statement added that 90% of Palestinian detainees are subjected to physical and psychological torture during arrest and interrogation.
