DJ Avicii's family arrive in Oman to return Swedish superstar's body home

Family members of Swedish DJ Avicii have arrived in Oman ready to return his body back from the sultanate and to ask questions about his premature death.

Avicii - real name Tim Bergling - passed away on Friday while on holiday in Oman, with his management not revealing his cause of death.

Times of Oman said that the family were in Oman to repatriate the body but have avoided speaking to media.

Avicii's sister Linda Sterner posted a simple message on Facebook saying: "Thank you for all kind thoughts. We love you all so much." 

Coroners in Oman have led two autopsies on Avicii's body to determine the cause of death. 

The Royal Oman Police will not comment further on the case but a source told AFP they have ruled out criminal involvement or foul play.

Avicii struggled with health problems, including pancreatitis, which was said to have been in part caused by excessive drinking.

Avicii stopped touring two years ago to curb his hard-partying lifestyle and is believed to have stopped drinking.

The DJ worked with some of the world's leading musicians and has been described as an electronic music pioneer.
