Children detained as Israeli forces raid Palestinian territories

Israeli forces captured dozens of Palestinians, including at least five children, from Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon for reasons yet unkown, according to a statement from the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society.

Those detained included five Palestinians from Hebron, three from Jenin, two from East Jerusalem, one from Bethlehem and two from the city of Tulkarem.

Additionally three Palestinians were arrested from the al-Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah, which hosts over 8,000 Palestinian refugees.

Three children, as young as 12, were also taken from Hebron while another two were detained in Tulkarem.

Meanwhile, over a hundred Israeli settlers stormed the Joseph Tomb, located east of the Palestinian city of Nablus in the early hours of Tuesday, under the protection of the Israeli army.

Eyewitness accounts say that heavily armed Israeli forces escorted more than seven buses that carried the settlers to the tomb.

The invasion caused clashes between Palestinian youth and the settlers.

According to reports by the Palestinian Information Centre, Israeli army forces attacked Palestinians with teargas.

The Nablus Governorate said that no major injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
