A seven-year-old Palestinian girl was hospitalised after settlers threw stones at her family's car in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli settlers threw stones at two cars owned by Palestinians on two separate incidents this week, breaking windows and injuring children travelling in the vehicles.

Israeli settlers from the Givat Harsina settlement situated illegally in eastern Hebron threw stones at vehicles with Palestinian license plates on Friday, according to Palestinian Authority (PA) news agency, Wafa News.

The settlers broke the glass of at least one car and injured one child, who has not yet been identified.

In a separate incident on Thursday night, a seven-year-old Palestinian girl was hospitalised after settlers threw stones at her family's car in the same area. The stones and glass hit her face, leaving her with multiple injuries.

Around 600 ultra-nationalist Israeli settlers live in the heart of Hebron, the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank. The settler enclave is protected by twice as many Israeli soldiers.

Hebron has deep religious significance for Muslims and Jews, who revere it as the burial site of religious patriarchs.

Hebron is known to be an exceptionally hostile environment due to its high concentration of settlers in the city. Its Palestinian residents reportedly live in fear due to Israeli aggression and apartheid practices.

Late summer, a video emerged showing Israeli settlers hurling Islamophobic abuse at a Palestinian woman, while also threatening to sexually assault her in occupied Hebron.

Human rights group B'Tselem released a video on Tuesday showing settlers from Israel's illegal Kiryat Arba settlement shouting insults at Islam and Palestinians.
