A new leaked recording allegedly from Sisi's office manager, hints at collaboration between Cairo and Libyan renegade general, Khalifa Haftar.
Leaked recordings of an alleged conversation between Egyptian commanders could indicate that Cairo is actively supporting the Libyan anti-Islamist military commander General Khalifa Haftar.

The recording allegedly features a conversation between the Egyptian president's office manager, Abbas Kamel, and army chief of staff Mahmoud Higazi, about setting up a meeting with Libyan leaders affiliated to Haftar.

In the recordings, a voice supposedly belonging to Kamel talks of bringing together Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan, Libyan leaders and Egyptian officers to coordinate the ongoing operations in Libya.

The same voice also mentions that an eight-tonne load of weaponry is "enough" for a plane, and that weapons are being prepared to be shipped to Libya.

In a separate leak purportedly recording Sisi, Higazi and Kamel, the three discuss the case of Ahmed Gaddaf al-Dam, a cousin and aide of the former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Kamal warns about the consequences of actions taken against him as he is considered to be a "collaborator" by many Libyans.

He also talks about plans for a meeting between Sisi and Haftar, and speaks about a private plane that could quietly take Dahlan out of the country.
