Israelis and Palestinians gathered in the occupied West Bank on Friday for a "peace march," amid rising tensions following weeks of deadly unrest in Israel and Palestinian territories.

The march comes as two Palestinians were shot dead on Friday following a wave of violence in the region.

Omar Arafat Issa al-Zaaqiq, a 19-year-old, was killed after a "vehicular attack" left six Israeli soldiers injured in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

The soldiers were reported lightly injured in the Palestinian town of Beit Ummar, near the flashpoint city of Hebron.

The shooting follows the fatal killing of a 25-year-old near the Israeli settlement of Kfar Adumim in the West Bank.

Fadi Muhammad Mahmoud Khasib, from Ramallah, was killed by a civilian, after allegedly injuring two Israeli soldiers in a car attack.

Nearly 100 Palestinians, including a Palestinian citizen of Israel, have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of October.

The violence has also left 17 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean dead.

Attempts to ease the tensions, including a visit by US Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday, have so far proved unsuccessful.
