Bashir re-nominated for top job in Sudan's presidential elections

Omar al-Bashir has been named as one of four candidates in Sudan’s presidential election in April, an adviser to the presidency has announced. The re-nomination of the president, who has led Sudan since a 1989 coup, is controversial as he is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Sudan’s Darfur region.
