A number of men across the racial and religious spectrums sometimes take it upon themselves to advise (aka mansplain) Muslim women and let them know what is best for them.

It almost seems as though Muslim women can never win these days. Some are judged for wearing too much, while others are judged for wearing too little. They are criticised for "not speaking up" enough, yet are silenced the moment they open their mouths.

A number of men across the racial and religious spectrums sometimes take it upon themselves to advise (aka mansplain) Muslim women to try and let them know what is best for them.

This happened recently after a journalist gave some brotherly advice to Muslim women: Follow Islam and you will not be abused:

Needless to say, Twitter users were not happy:

Blame culture may not be exclusive to Muslim societies, but Muslims took particular offense at this because of the way it strays from Islamic values and allows cultural values to take precedence over religious morals and decrees.

While others began to rectify the notion that Muslim women are immune from abuse:

Analogies were also used to present Abbasi's attempt at finding a correlation...

Oh, let's not forget about this tweet telling Abbasi to follow Islam first. Though, not to protect women, but to set a good example for them... erm... thanks but no thanks.
