Fear, anger and concern: The world reacts to Trump's Jerusalem move decision
There have been many mixed reactions to Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Despite US President Donald Trump pledging over and over again during his election campaign that he will move the US embassy to Jerusalem, not many thought he will fall through with his promise. 

So when announcements were made that he will formally recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Wednesday, it came as a shock for many across the world.

Prior to the recognition, both Trump’s allies and his enemies warned him of the consequences of Washington’s shift to Jerusalem.

On Saturday, the Hamas movement called for a new "intifada" if Washington carries out its plans to shift to Jerusalem. Trump's Egyptian ally Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned Trump to “not complicate the situation in region”. Turkey said it will "throw the region and the world into a fire" calling the move a "great disaster" that will lead the way to "turmoil, chaos and clashes".

The announcement has also caused various reactions online. Some are excited and are endorsing this extreme step, others are apprehensive, whereas the majority of Palestinians and Palestine supporters are angry.

Many took to social media to highlight their reactions, with some lambasting the "unjust" reaction of mainstream media.

Some Palestinians created an Arabic hashtag translating to Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine to highlight their thoughts on the move:
