Military preparations outside Mosul [The New Arab]

Kurdish Peshmerga fighters are joining with Iraqi troops mere kilometres from Mosul, the last bastion of the Islamic State group in Iraq.

The New Arab is on the front lines, and will continue to be, as preparations to re-take the city continue.

Tomorrow, we'll be bringing you an exclusive interview with Major-General Nour el-Din Hussein, head of operations for the military units who will attack Mosul from the city's east.
